The Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame will host its last Dinosaur Family Fun Day, Saturday, April 29th, from 10:00am until 2:00pm. This free event includes crafts for the children, and free admission to the current exhibit “Dinosaur Discoveries.” Guest speaker George T. Basabilvazo will begin at 11:00am. He will discuss his discovery of the Duck Bill Dinosaur (Hadrosaur) in the Little Hatchet Mountains near Deming. The fossil is remarkable because it includes bones from the back, tail and impressions of the dinosaur’s skin. The well-preserved impressions show fine details of the tiny, crimped scales. Similar scales can be seen today on the feet of some birds. The day concludes with the family friendly Disney film, Dinosaur, starting at 2:00pm.
